BIZ WALLACE

Biz is a multimedia artist, filmmaker, and waterwoman from North Carolina whose work centers narratives rooted in labor, land, and sea. A veteran of the DIY scene, she grew up making posters for friends’ bands and filming house shows on a camcorder, developing an early instinct for capturing life as it unfolds. Trained at USC, she went on to work with a range of brands before turning to maritime work, where her creative practice and lived experience increasingly converged.

Across her work, she is drawn to honest, place-based storytelling that reveals how people live, work, and endure within the environments that shape them. She is currently developing a film exploring shifting identities in working waterfronts and the quiet, persistent question of what it takes to sustain a life at sea as these communities navigate change.
