BIZ WALLACE

Biz is a multimedia artist, documentary filmmaker, and waterwoman from North Carolina whose work explores labor, landscape, and life on the water. After studying at USC, she worked across film, design, and communications before spending more than a decade aboard research vessels, sailing ships, and commercial and charter boats.

That experience now sits at the center of her creative practice. She is particularly drawn to communities whose lives and livelihoods are deeply tied to the places they inhabit. She is currently developing a documentary about disappearing working waterfronts and what it means to sustain a way of life in an uncertain future.
